Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr. is the current Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Vice Chair of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for Prevention and Mitigation in the Philippines. He has been with DOST for almost 40 years, starting his career at the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) in 1984.

He served in various roles at PHIVOLCS, eventually becoming its Director from 2003 to 2017. Before his appointment as Secretary of DOST in 2022, Dr. Solidum served as an Undersecretary for six years and was also the Officer-In-Charge of PHIVOLCS. He was the Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change in 2017 and then the Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services in 2019, overseeing agencies focused on science education, disaster risk reduction, and climate change.

Dr. Solidum has received several awards for his contributions to disaster risk reduction and public service, including the Presidential Citation for Public Service and the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award from the Civil Service Commission.

He holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego, a Master's degree in Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

A Lasallian through and through, Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC finished his grade school at De La Salle College (the former name of De La Salle University) and his high school at La Salle Green Hills. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Literature at DLSU, where he also earned his Master of Arts in Language and Literature and Doctor of Education in Religious and Values Education.

Br. Bernie entered the postulancy in 1971, took the habit of the Brothers in 1974, and made his final vows at La Salle Green Hills in 1980.

He was president of La Salle Green Hills from 1997 to 2006. One of the founding Brothers of Jaime Hilario Integrated School-La Salle in Bagac, Bataan, he served as its president from 2006 to 2007.

In AY 2007-2008, he returned to the Manila campus to serve as president of the DLSU Professional Schools, Inc., which managed the University’s graduate business programs. The following academic year, he was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor for Lasallian Mission and External Relations (VCLMER).

His proclivity for being on time reflects much of how he views invaluable resources and how he makes the most of what he has. As VCLMER, he launched the “Lasallians on Time” campaign to develop time management as well as a stronger culture of thoughtfulness and respect among members of the Lasallian community. This principle also allowed him to handle multiple roles.

Winston Damarillo

Winston Damarillo has a wealth of experience in various roles and industries. Winston is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of BayaniPay, a position they started in June 2021. In July 2022, they became a Co-Founder of earnie™️. Prior to these roles, Damarillo was the Managing Partner of Talino Venture Labs starting in January 2019 and the Founder and Chairman of Amihan Global Strategies (AGSX) starting in April 2015. Winston also founded and chaired Exist Software Labs, Inc. in June 2001.

Damarillo has had significant experience in the telecommunications industry as well. Winston served as the Chief Strategy Officer of PLDT from May 2015 to October 2018. Additionally, they were the CEO and Founder of Gluecode Software from September 2001 to May 2005.Damarillo started their career in 1992 at Intel, where they worked in corporate investments until 2000.

Overall, Damarillo's work experience showcases their leadership and entrepreneurial skills in various industries, including finance, technology, and telecommunications.Winston Damarillo's education history includes various executive programs and executive education courses in prestigious institutions. In 1986, they started their academic journey at De La Salle University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 1990. In the year 2000, Damarillo attended an Executive Program at Harvard Business School, focusing on Strategic Finance and Venture Investing. Continuing their executive education, in 2011, they participated in an Executive Program at Harvard Kennedy School, specializing in Global Leadership and Public Policy. In 2013, Damarillo further enhanced their knowledge by completing an Executive Education course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on Enterprise Transformation. Lastly, in 2014, they attended Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where they participated in an Executive Program centered around Transformational Leadership.

John Echauz is a staunch advocate of sustainability and environmental conservation. He is the founder of Climate Change Corp. He is also the founder of two business outsourcing companies serving global pet health (Petsure Services Inc.) and US life insurers (Insurance Support Services International Corp.), with the latter building its practice around climate finance and sustainability.

He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York and a BS in Industrial Engineering of the De La Salle University, Manila.

He was named young global leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013.

Jamey Butcher

Since joining Chemonics in 1998, President and CEO Jamey Butcher has served across a variety of roles and regions. Most recently, Jamey oversaw Chemonics’ global health and supply chain portfolio. In that capacity, he led efforts to implement sustainable supply chains, improve health service delivery, and scale up innovative approaches in developing country environments. He also championed the development of Chemonics’ knowledge sharing and learning hub that provides continual learning opportunities for Chemonics’ global network of more than 5,000 employees. Previously, he served as senior vice president of the Europe and Eurasia, Global Health, Africa, and then East Africa business units. In addition to diversifying and expanding the company’s portfolio, he developed a quality assurance approach to new business and trained staff in innovative enterprise development methods. While providing strategic management and operational oversight of Chemonics, Jamey draws from experience as a private sector development specialist with more than 20 years of experience in Eurasia, Latin America, and Asia. He has conducted technical assignments on international trade, competitiveness, and micro-, small, and medium enterprise development. He also served as chief of party of the Armenia Micro Enterprise Development Initiative (MEDI). Jamey received an M.A. from American University in international political economy and a B.A. in political science from Colorado State University.

Kristy Drutman, otherwise known as “Browngirl Green” is a speaker, consultant, media producer, and environmental educator passionate about working at the intersections between media, diversity, and environmentalism.

As a young entrepreneur, Kristy has educated hundreds of thousands of people across the globe about modern-day environmental issues through speeches and media content as well as facilitates workshops centered around environmental media and storytelling in cities across the United States.

Kristy is also the Co-Founder of the Green Jobs Board, a climate tech start-up bridging the equity and inclusion gap within the green economy through conversations, resources, and pathways to bring more diverse talent into the environmental field.

Gunjan Bhow has more than 25 years of extensive experience in digital technology and transformation, media, and investment. Passionate about transforming organizations through customer-led digital experiences and engagement, Gunjan led the development of Disney+, and Amazon’s Fire TV stick, Prime Digital, Amazon Studios, and Echo. He has launched more than a dozen products from concept to profitability, serving more than 100 million customers and generating billions in revenue. Gunjan holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School with a focus on behavioral economics and a B.S. in engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkley with a focus on digital media and cognitive psychology.
